These terms govern your use of Briefly. By creating an account or accepting a proposal on the platform, you agree to them. Please read them — we've tried to keep the language plain.
Briefly (“Briefly”, “we”, “us”) operates the briefly.app marketplace from Athens, Greece. You can reach us at hello@briefly.app.
Briefly is a technology platform. Travellers describe a trip with our AI assistant and publish a structured brief. Verified travel agencies see those briefs and submit proposals. The traveller picks one. The booking, payment, and delivery of any travel services is a contract between the traveller and the agency — not between either party and Briefly.
Briefly is not a travel agency, a tour operator, or a seller of package travel. We do not arrange flights, hotels, transfers, activities, or any other travel services. We do not hold or process traveller funds for the trip itself. The travel agency is solely responsible for the proposals it submits, the booking it agrees to fulfil, and the operation of the trip. The Package Travel Directive (EU 2015/2302) obligations sit with the agency, not Briefly.
Publishing a trip brief uses one “brief credit”. New accounts receive 3 free brief credits on signup. After those, you can buy more in packs (3 / 10 / 25 credits) or subscribe to Briefly Pro for unlimited briefs. Current prices are shown on the billing page. Briefs you receive in proposals are free.
A published brief stays live for 14 days. After that it auto-closes and is no longer visible to agencies for new proposals. You can republish a closed brief at any time (republishing uses 1 credit; Pro subscribers republish free).
Brief credit packs are non-refundable once purchased except where consumer law requires otherwise. Briefly Pro can be cancelled at any time from the billing page and stops at the end of the current billing period. We do not refund unused days of a Pro subscription.
When you accept an agency's proposal, the agency's bank/payment details become visible to you in-app. You wire payment directly to the agency. Both sides confirm payment in-app so a clear record exists. Briefly does not hold, forward, or guarantee that money. If you have concerns about an agency, stop the handshake and contact us.
The agency you book with is solely responsible for delivering the trip. Cancellations, refunds, changes, and disputes about quality are resolved between you and the agency, under the terms in the agency's proposal. Briefly is happy to act as a mediator and will respond to good-faith complaints, but we are not a party to your travel contract and cannot grant refunds for trip services we did not provide.
After a trip you can leave a review for the agency. Reviews must reflect your actual experience. Fake, misleading, or defamatory reviews may be removed; repeat offences can lead to account suspension.
These terms apply in addition to the agency-specific terms you accept on signup and re-confirm on each proposal you submit. Where they conflict with these general terms, the agency-specific terms control.
You must be a legitimate, licensed (where required by your jurisdiction) travel business with authority to operate the trips you propose. You must complete our review and verification process and accept our agency terms before being approved.
We offer Free, Plus (€19/month), and Premium (€49/month) plans. Each has different allowances (proposals per month, brief access timing, ranking visibility) and a different commission rate on completed bookings (12% / 8% / 5%). Plan benefits and limits are shown on the billing page and apply at the time you submit each proposal.
For every booking that originates through Briefly, you owe commission at the rate of your plan as of the moment you submitted the winning proposal. Commission is calculated on the booking value confirmed by both parties in the in-app handshake. We issue a consolidated invoice for the previous month on or about the 1st of each month, payable within 30 days.
Any traveller introduced to your agency through Briefly remains a Briefly-attributed lead for 12 months from first contact. Bookings completed off-platform with the same traveller within that window remain subject to the commission rate of your active plan at the time of booking. We may verify by cross-checking traveller confirmations; repeat violations may lead to account suspension and a claim for unpaid commission.
Late payment may result in: removal from the marketplace until settled, the commission rate increasing from your current tier to the Free-tier rate (12%) until paid, and ultimately account termination. We may also pursue unpaid commission through ordinary collection processes.
Across both sides of the platform, you agree NOT to:
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. Severe or repeated violations may be reported to authorities.
The platform's software, design, and content (excluding user-submitted content) are owned by Briefly and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the platform without our permission.
You retain ownership of the brief content you write and the proposal content you submit. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, and process that content as needed to run the marketplace (e.g. to show your brief to agencies, your proposal to the traveller, to back up, to email transactional updates, to score with AI).
Briefly uses OpenAI's API to help travellers build briefs and to score agency proposals against briefs. The output of these AI features is advisory only and may contain errors. We do not guarantee that any AI suggestion, score, ranking, or generated content is accurate, complete, or suitable for your purpose. Travellers and agencies remain solely responsible for the decisions they make.
We try hard to keep Briefly running, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. The platform is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may perform planned maintenance with notice where reasonable and emergency maintenance without notice when needed for security or stability.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Briefly's aggregate liability to you arising from or relating to your use of the platform in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid Briefly in that period (for traveller credit packs or subscriptions, or for agency subscriptions and commission). Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Briefly is not liable for the trips themselves. If a flight is cancelled, a hotel is overbooked, an excursion is mis-sold, or any other trip-related problem arises, your recourse is against the agency you booked with.
You agree to indemnify Briefly against any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms, your violation of applicable law, or any user-generated content you submit.
You can terminate your account at any time from Settings, subject to the constraints described there (e.g. you can't delete while a booking is in flight or an invoice is unsettled). We may terminate or suspend accounts that violate these terms or for legal compliance reasons. On termination, the licence in Section 7 ends but provisions that by their nature should survive (commission owed, liability, indemnity, governing law) do survive.
We may update these terms when the service or the law changes. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after the change takes effect counts as acceptance of the new terms. If you don't agree, you can close your account before the changes apply.
These terms are governed by the laws of Greece, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be brought before the courts of Athens, Greece — except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to sue in your country of residence.
The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
